MANRRS 2013 Conf Sacramento, CA.

Texas State University – San Marcos, sent four students from the Department of Agriculture to Sacramento, California for the 28th Annual Career Fair & Training Conference of the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) held at the Sacramento Double Tree Hotel on March 20-23, 2013. Representing Texas State University – San Marcos, was Juan Garcia, David Vela, Magaly Gomez and Patricia Garcia. The students had one-on-one resume critiquing time with a business professional, networking with businesses such as John Deere, and had the opportunity to view MANRRS competitions at the national level. The group also had the opportunity to meet the undergraduate and graduate representatives from each region. In addition, students had some free time to explore the awesome landscape of northern California which included farmlands, woodlands, the giant Redwood trees and the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range.  It was a wonderful opportunity for these students to participate in a national conference and to make important professional connections.
