    Robin Coombs is an Elgin, Texas resident, but was raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is an Animal Science major with a specialization in Animal Health Technology. She took some post-bachelors classes at CSU while working in the nephrology research lab in the Physiology Department. After moving to the Denver area, she worked at the CU Medical Center in the Pediatric Nephrology lab. She took a break to raise her family. Subsequently, she taught Human Anatomy and Physiology labs part-time at the Junior College level. She describes herself as a “nontraditional” student and enjoys being back in the agricultural field. Her interests are in education, nutrition, and meat sciences.

    Megan Holmes received her B.S. in Psychology from Texas State University, and is currently working to complete her M.Ed. in Agricultural Education from Texas State University.  Megan has been involved in Student Government as a Representative of the Graduate House of Representatives since the fall semester of 2012; and is now serving her third term as House Secretary.  She is also an active member of Bobcat Blend and Alpha Chi. Her research interests include horticultural therapy within correctional facilities and at-risk populations.

    After completing a career as a Logistic Strategic Planner, she returned to graduate school to study plants (food and ornamental crops) and propagation methods. She is also interested in chickens and how chickens complete the cycle of sustainability with plants. She and a fellow student won second place in the 2014 Texas Rural Challenge, Student Challenge, for a business plan titled, “The Pumpkin Patch for Rural Development.” The plan was designed to enhance income for rural communities. Recently, she was invited to join the Pi Alpha Xi national honor society for horticulture.

    She graduated from West High School in 2011, where she was active in FFA at the local, district and state level. She also participated in rodeo and leadership programs. After graduation, she moved to College Station to attend Blinn College for a year and a half then transferred to Texas A&M. There she was involved in multiple organizations including Alpha Zeta Honor Society and the Meat Judging Team. She graduated from Texas A&M in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Animal Science and also obtained a Meat Science Certification. She is currently working on her Masters at Texas State in Agriculture Education, with an emphasis on teaching.

    Taylor Luce graduated from Texas State with a Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business and a Minor in Animal Science. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Agricultural Education with the ambition to teach at a local junior college. He has always been intrigued with agriculture and all it entails and would love the opportunity to share it with others. When he is not knee deep in school work or working one of his three jobs you will find him off the beaten path enjoying the outdoors.

    Sarah Martinez identifies herself as a "military brat,” but was born in Houston. She earned a Bachelors degree in Animal Science at Texas State in December of 2014. She is currently working on her Masters degree, with a focus in meat science and nutrition. She loves to travel and experience new things. She loves her dog, Lassie.

    She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science in December of 2013. After graduation, she accepted an agriculture teaching position at Pettus Secondary School. Subsequently, she decided to continue her education at Texas State University where she is studying agriculture education. Equine science is a main focus for her, but she has expanded her interests, as she is the only teacher in her department. She is very passionate about agriculture and aspires to be an agriculture teacher educator.

    Mala Ramkumar graduated from Westlake High School in Austin, Texas. After, she moved to College Station where she completed her Associates Degree from Blinn College. She then transferred to Texas State University where she completed her Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Animal Science and is currently working on her Masters Degree. Mala got her passion for traveling after living overseas for 5 years during her childhood. She continues to take advantage for this love of travel and adventure by accepting many opportunities presented to her still today. Exposure to invaluable knowledge and the experiences she has gained from the many different parts of the world so far, have proven beneficial in fulfilling this passion for culture, animals and food.

    Jacob graduated December 15 with B.S. in Animal Science – Ranch and Natural Resource Management, from Texas State.  He is currently working on his master’s degree with a focus in wildlife and Rangelands Management.  Research interest in White-Tailed Deer Habitat Management and Nutrition, companion grazing (multi-species grazing) systems, and Rangeland Productivity.  He has two horses and a German Shepherd.
