Dedicated to Excellence

The Department of Agriculture at Texas State University is dedicated to excellence in undergraduate and graduate studies and provides an atmosphere for students to gain rewarding industrial experiences.  Our campus environment and close proximity to a university operated 4,200 acre teaching and research ranch (Freeman Ranch) allows for frequent interaction between students and faculty/staff.  This learning atmosphere is unique and uncommon at most other universities.

Through academic programs, students are able to prepare themselves with a balance of applied knowledge and creative ideas to pursue life-long careers in Texas' most crucial industry - Agriculture.  The department enhances the image of Texas State University by emphasizing the business and education areas of agriculture as related to animal and plant enterprises, in order to meet current and future industry needs.
