Agricultural Education

Emphasis in the major is on production techniques, managerial skills and competencies necessary to function as agricultural scientists, educators, or agricultural managers in today’s complex agricultural industry. Agriculture teachers are certified to teach in grades six through twelve in the public schools of Texas.

The Department of Agricultural Sciences Teacher Certification Program works closely with the College of Education, Office of Educator Preparation (OEP) in order to ensure that all students meet and exceed the licensure requirements set forth by the State of Texas.
