Mrs. Robin Coombs

Lecturer in Agricultural Science

After graduating with a B.S. degree in Animal Science, Robin was sweep up into Renal research (working with Sprague-Dawley rats – NEVER dreamt about that) in the Physiology Department at Colorado State University while her husband attended veterinary school.  Afterwards, she moved to the University of Colorado, Health Science Center in the Pediatric Nephrology unit where she continued to be involved with research this time with Munich Wistar (a breed with surface glomeruli) rats. 

Later she taught Human Anatomy and Physiology at Midland College, Midland, TX and Brown Mackie College, Lenexa, KS.  A love for students and interaction in the classroom is what brings joy to her job and is the highlight of the day for Ms. Coombs.

I am a kinesthetic learner and in turn enjoy active engagement and interaction when teaching. It has been said that learning is fun. Not really - learning is tough and challenging, but it is FUN when you have mastered the material and can apply it to the world around you.

I find enjoyment in keeping score at high school volleyball games, being a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), being a member of the “Sowpremes” in Elgin, gardening, quilting, church service, and chasing her grandchildren every chance I get.
